Every project asks for a material before it asks for anything else. Sukarta exists in that first decision — sourcing stone from the volcanic islands of Indonesia, curating it for the pools, terraces, and interiors it will finish, and helping architects and homeowners find the surface a project already wants.

our values

Sourced with care. Curated with intent. Placed by design.

From a single region

One geology, three collections, twelve stones. The Sukarta selection is intentionally small — every surface earned its place.

Made for climate and use

Every stone is chosen for outdoor life — heat, water, salt, sun — and calibrated to behave predictably in the spaces it finishes.

Cut by hand

Hand-cut and honed in Indonesia by a family of craftsmen, calibrated to consistent thicknesses so the install reads as one continuous plane.

How we work. Room first.

Every project starts with the room, not the stone. We ask about the space — the light, the climate, the use, the atmosphere the room is trying to hold — and recommend the surface that fits. From first sample to final install, one member of the studio stays with the project. Between the quarry in Indonesia and the room in America, Sukarta is the single point of contact.
